Is there a spyware blocker and remover that is free?

Because most of the ones on the internet are actually spyware themselves...an is there a method to protect your PC from Activwe X viruses and Spyware...? ty for ansewers

I got a list for you of both free and nonfree programs for anti-virus, anti-spyware, and some other extra protection programs:

-McAfee 12 in 1 Security Center (anti-virus)

or AVG if you want a free program

-Spyware Doctor with AV (anti-spyware)

or Spybot S&D if you want a free program

-PC Tools Firewall Plus(free) (firewall)

-ThreatFire(free) (added virus protection)

-CCleaner(keep computer running pretty good, cleans up history and whatnot)

-Firefox(safe browser)

Ad-Aware 2008 is an excellent antispyware...best of all free. Also Zone Alarm and WinPatrol are very good firewalls and both are compatable with each other....and have free versions.
