Question:

Is there a steakhouse in/near Houston that raises their own cows?

lookin for a steak, but if i don't know where/how the cow was raised/slaughtered, i won't touch it. i know it's a long-shot. peace

  1. Sorry, doesn't exist. While restaurants have relationships with their suppliers, and there is the USDA, restaurants are too concerned with overhead to be more than the end of the supply chain. The cost involved with raising and then processing the cow would be too high, especially since steakhouses only use a small portion of said cow.


  2. well saltgrass has very high quality beef, only certified black angus, grown here in texas. i worked there for a little bit and it was really good meat.

  3. Do you really want to eat somewhere that not only has cows on site but also kills them there?????

    Try Saltgrass or Texas Land and Cattle.  Both use very good quality meat.

  4. If your issue is about inhumane treatment, your best bet is to go somewhere that's Kosher... Lemme know if you find the pick 'em and eat 'em cows though! LOL
