Is there a strategy to Sudoku?

Is there a smart way of playing Sudoku to prevent getting tangled up, Because It's turning me abusive... lol

Try doing all the large squares horizontally and then vertical or vise versa to try and get out of a jam. Sudoku just takes a lot of patience and will power. This technique is especially helpful for the medium - hard puzzles.

My Method is to go by numbers.  Like, I'd check where all the 1s would go, 2s, so on and so forth.  Do that a couple of times, and do not fill in any other number than the one you are on, even if it is painfully obvious.  After you've circled through #s 1-9 a few times, go around and check the 3x3 squares, seeing what will fit, then the rows and columns.  I normally go around and see which 3x3 squares, rwos, and columns are missing the fewest numbers.

you have to be able to answer first the obvious ones
