Is there a strike going on in France or Italy Right Now?

I have an employee who is telling me they can't get back to the states for at least 5 days because there is a strike of some type (flight attendants?) going on in France or Italy right now.....I can't find any info about this. Anyone heard anything?

Yes Air France was on strike for the past 5 days. They just stopped yesterday evening!

Watched the french news here in Australia on Saturday morning and the national carrier Air France has been on strike now for almost a week. Before that, the national railways were. If you want to check go on the Air France website.

The flight attendants of Air France were on strike, plenty of flights were cancelled, those that did fly were too few for the number of stranded passengers. It ended on Monday evening.
