Yeah I want to re grip my own clubs but I don't have solvent or coleman camp fuel. Is there a household item I can use to substitute as a solvent?

  1. If your going to take the time to regrip your clubs, then you have the funds to get the right material to do the grips...Don't short cut the process to save a couple of bones...NAPTHA at the home supply is what you would like to use.  Get a squeeze bottle to get the solvent onto the double sided tape on your clubs, and enjoy the fruit of your labor.

  2. well in days gone by,,,,we used to use paint thinner.....Acetone is a bit harsh on the grips

  3. acetone is a great solvent

    fingernail ploish remover is acetone

    also paint thiner

  4. Mineral spirits works great. I've never tried goo gone before but it might work okay. I also use Bramptons HF-100 grip solvent, which doesn't evaporate for a long time so it's really easy to get the grips on, acetone evaporated very fast (for me anyway).
