Is there a such thing as a japanese birth certificate??

  1. Japan, most likely...(sorry, couldn't resist!).


  2. We don't have birth certificate by itself unless it is required by special reasons.

    But we have the family registry called "koseki".

    It contains information of birth, adoption, marriage, death etc.

    You can get the information from the city/town hall where you reside.

    If you want to get someone else's record, I think you need a written permission from the person.
