I'm wondering if there is a chemical that burns at a very low temperature. low enough to be able to handle it with bare hands. Under 200* F. I'm not a chemical wizz or anything, but I'm looking to do play with fire in a safe way. More specifically, I want to set my electric guitar on fire and play it without hurting myself or the guitar.

  1. I really doubt there is cold fire. In order for there to be a fire you must have three things: oxygen, heat, fuel. The flame produced by a fire is the result of an exothermic reaction. Heat and energy are released during an exothermic reaction.

If you consider a basic type of flame, the minimum temperature is somewhere around 500 F. So, I really doubt that you could have a cold fire.
