Or is it all just a matter of perspective?

What is wrong to you may be right to the next man.

How do we know what is right then?

  1. Well, yes,as in good and bad. If a man shot his mother in law at a distance of 500 metres he would be a good shot, but he would be a bad person,or would he?

  2. To consider the definition of right and wrong as " What is acceptable based off of your own Morals"  Then no, for instance if someone were to harm my family in any way, I would see no reason to not tie them up, coat them in gasoline, and light them a blaze with a cigarette butt. To most people that's wrong. Honestly if someone dinged my car I wouldn't see a reason to not bash their window in with a crowbar or stuff a kitten into their exhaust. Then again my moral compass is so f-ed up it's hard to believe I find my way to the parking lot leaving work. To consider the definition of right and wrong as " What is acceptable based on the Social Norm, or a set system of laws and rules applied by popular thought." Then yes there is a difference and a real thing.

To me, It's a mater of perspective, reality is 90% perspective. If you take a hit of acid, what you see isn't real, but you see it, feel it, hear it, and taste it. In your mind it is.

  3. i think its perspective. thats why we have so many religions and denominations.

  4. I think anything that is done to intentionally hurt someone is wrong.

  5. it is wrong to steal from the poor

  6. Right and wrong is a grey fuzzy area. It differs between everyone, I think its right to eat meat, others don't.

  7. There is right and wrong.. what they are, is dictated by society.

  8. It's all opinion

That's not to say that there aren't precepts

We all know killing is wrong, abuse is wrong, slander is wrong...but what makes those defect from the idea of "right and wrong" is the fact that there can be no "right"

  9. That is why a 'trained' conscience is so valuable.

  10. Depends on which side you're on.

  11. there is no such thing as right and wrong in the sense of them being opposites.  They are not opposites.  Right and wrong are on the same continium arranged in hierarchy.  Good (right) is on the top. Bad (evil) is on the bottom. In other words, it's impossible to define one independently of the other.  In order to explain one, you must talk about the other, so they are really two parts of the same thing. Like in order to explain the word down, you would have to explain it's relation to the word up

  12. Dear Friend,

You are absolutely correct in your evaluation of right and wrong...being right for one, and wrong for another.  Man's mind is only finite.  And we can only establish reasoning by the things we have been exposed to from the beginning of our life to the present.

That is why God gave us His Manual for our life; the Bible; the Living Word.  He has a divine standard for which we are to live our life...abundantly.  When we obey ...blessings; disobey...consequences.

There is God (Good) and Satan (Evil).  God cannot change His character or He would not be...God.  Satan however, is the master deceiver and he will twist things around to make soemthing LOOK good, but end up being the "wrong" choice with consequences.

That is why God gave us His Word.  It is not to harm us, or prevent us from having a "good" time.  But to for us to have a "good" time...by following His rules.  Otherwise, a chaotic society with no standard, no peace, no future.

So then, how does one truly "know" what is right and wrong?  The Author knows; and it's all in the Bible.

  13. It's all relative on being the assailant or the victim. The assailant sees it right to kill another for their money as they need it. The victim see the right to live and kill his assailant. At the same time, some of us live by the ethics of our hearts. The courts have the same problem. What is right and what is wrong. It is inherent what is good and bad. Perspective creates our realities and how we act in those realities. I like harm none not even yourself. My ethics have created my reality. I didn't have to go about shaping it as it was shaped for me before birth. Wake up.
