  5. yes. i am from mexico, there is many who look american but are full blood hispanic, green eyes and all.

  6. Absolutely. In terms of demographics, the Mexican population is about 9% white, 10-30% indigenous, and the remainder a mixture of indigenous and european ancestry known as "mestizo". The historical reasons for this are that the white spaniards conquered the dark skinned indigenous peoples of mexico (such as the Aztecs) during their colonization of New Spain and subsequently inter-mixed with them. That is why different Mexicans can have such different skin tones depending upon what their own particular ancestry is. Indeed, in other parts of Latin America a similar phenomenan can be observed.  Many countries' populations are a mixture of the bloodlines of white european colonizers or immigrants, dark skinned indigenous peoples, black slaves that were brought from Africa, and people who  may in fact have some ancestry from all of the above. Of course, the proportion that each of these heritages represents in the demographics of each Latin American country varies depending upon that country's history. For example, whereas Mexico is only 9% white, the country of Argentina I believe is overwhelmingly white because most of its people have european heritage from Spain, Italy, Germany, and other nations. A common misconception is that being Latino is a racial category--it is not. Latino simply means that one comes from a Latin American background, which is a region of the world with many countries and sometimes very multiracial and multiethnic populations. Let's put it this way: being a Mexican is no more a matter of race than being a citizen of the United States is. Furthermore, rightly or wrongly, when travelling to a Latin American country you will likely notice that being lighter skinned or white is associated with upper class status. Those with political power, higher incomes, and even those seen as "beautiful" by advertising and mass media have a noticeable tendency to be lighter tan or white skinned. This is a sad reality, but racism and racial stratification are just as characteristic of Latin American countries as they are of the United States.

  7. Hi, being Mexican myself I think I can explain... most of my friends & family are white, some blond and some with light couloured eyes, and yes, we're all Mexicans.

After the Spanish Colony (1492) the races mixed and there are loads & loads of white mexicans (particularly asociated with the wealthier families) and there was also a lot of Spanish inmigration in the era of Franco.

There's not a strong mix with the USA as some were mentioning, it's mainly Spanish.

  8. because of there abuelitos

  9. well, maybe they are mexicans bcoz they have mexican nationality, but emigrated from other countries...and then they emigrate to USA of course :D

  10. Yup. Some Mexicans are black, but a few of them are pale-faces

  11. Mexicans come in all colors, I myself am a very light Mexican.

  12. if they are mixed....i think. lol

  13. Yes there is plenty, and yes aroud 10 % of the pop is white mostly from Spanish,  and there were imigrations from other countrys aswell

In Chihuahua there is a group of Mormones that came from the U.S., also a german - dutch community called Menonites..

In Baja California there were English, Russians and French,

In Michoacan there was a community of Italians

In Jalisco the region was considered white in some areas since colonial times and in the 1800's there were Italians; the french leave some gens when they invaded.

In Puebla there is a community of Italians from Venetto, and they still speak the language, also a lot of Germans that came to work for Volkswagen and eventualy stay in Mexico.

    Veracruz has a French town.

The list can go on and on

  14. Yes there are plenty of white Mexicans with blond hair and blue eyes, from American / Canadian and European root's and there are black Mexicans with African root's and Asian Mexicans.

  15. What a questio!

    Yes. There are white mexicans.

"mexican" is a nationality, not a race.

And, it is FALSE that if a mexican is white, its parents must be european. There are MANY "criollos" in México (criollo means descendent from europeans, but from original conquerors), but in the stadistics those are included as "mestizos".
