Is there a tablet that when put in water produces steam?

do you know anything like this with aromatherapy? or just anything at all like this?

  1. There are only a few things that can create a severe change in energy at room temperature that could create steam... none of them are completely safe. Dry Ice (as you've pointed out) can give you frost bite if not handled properly, pure Sodium can start fizzing in water and create a little smoke, and if I recall correctly from Chemistry class, any of the elements below it on the periodic would have a similar (but more volatile) response. However, each one that produces more smoke causes more potential for danger.

    My best suggestion for aromatherapy would be to get a vaporizer that's designed for aromatherapy... that'll be the easiest and safest option for all parties involved  ;-)
