Is there a technical or other way of saying "put another brick in the wall"?

I keep telling my wife that she keeps putting another brick in the wall in our relationship. I was just wondering if there was a technical term for it..

actually it is called "laying a course". arent you sorry you asked, now? that will give you plenty of opportunities for bad puns and that will dive you nuts.

example: "youre laying in a course all the way to the shrinks office!"
