I know a number that gives you cheap calls to the UK.

It's 901888099. Put in 50cents (minimum) then dial that number wait until the spanish woman stops talking then dial the UK number. Sometimes it doesn't work due to bad connection etc.. basically if theres no ringing tone try again later! The money lasts ages, oh and it will take about 20cents just for connecting to the cheap number!

Or look out for "phone shops", they have phone booths inside. You go in and call as you like then pay when you're done. Theres a timer on the phone so you can see how much you are spending. Thats quite cheap and good for international calls.

Failing all that the phone cards are good, there's different ones depending where you want to call. They are about 5 or 6 euro. (always bought mine from the chinese shops!!!).

was in lanazarote this summer, i found the public pay phones very cheap. i used to ring ireland for about 2 euroes for 10 mins
