  1. There should be a financial one in my opinion.

  2. No there are many different tests which can be carried out when someone is trying to conceive - for both women and men.

Women would have blood tests to check hormone levels (ie make sure you're ovulating), ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries to make sure theres nothing majorly wrong, an HSG in which dye is injected through the fallopian tubes to make sure they're not blocked, or a laparoscopy when a small incision is made in the naval and a scope is used to examine the uterus, ovaries etc and check for problems such as PCOS, Endometriosis etc.

A man would be expected to have a s***n anaylsis when they check the number of healthy sperm cells in his s***n.  The Home Sperm Tests are useless as they only measure how many sperm cells a man has in his s***n - when fertility can be affected by morphology (are the sperm cells formed normally) motility (are the good "swimmers") etc.  You could have a really high sperm count but if all the sperm cells are malformed or nor swimming properly that would affect your fetility and a Home Sperm Test wouldn't tell you that,

Its important to understand that being "unable" to have kids - as in you could never ever ever get pregnant or get someone pregnant - is very rare.  Many people have "reduced" fertility - ie a man might have a low sperm count/poor morphology/motility or a woman might have a hormonal problem such as PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) or Endometriosis, or even a physical problem such as blocked tubes.  This does not mean they could never have children, just that it would be more difficult for them to get pregnant naturally (ie just through having s*x) and they might need fertility drugs or assisted reproductive technology like IVF.

My fiance was told he had a low sperm count, and yet we went onto conceive our son naturally.

  3. Yes you can buy home sperm test kits online.  I know you can get them at www.accessdiagnostics.com (think that is it).

Not sure how accurate they are but if you have been ttc for over a year I would both take a trip to the drs.

    Good luck

  4. If you have been trying to conceive for over a year without nothing happening, then you can make an appointment with your doctors.

They will then take blood tests and do other tests that will rule out different things.

  5. jus check it out his sperm count in a clinic.

  6. both partners need to go through various fertility tests, which may be expensive...

  7. There is no "one" test.
