Is there a thin-line between OCD and cleanliness?

I cannot stand dirty mirrors, full trash cans and dirty sinks. Sometimes, I think I am obsessed with it. But, then again, isn't that just being clean???

  1. There is a big difference between the two, your not being being obsessive but normal. You are just a clean a person, not a dirty girl. lol.

  2. Nah. I have OCD, and there is a very clear difference.

People with OCD aren't just clean-freaks.

They literally obsess over many other things. The amount of steps you take in a hallway. How many times you can touch your left hand without touching your right one.

When I was little, I would constantly be afraid of flipping people off, so I would crunch my fingers into fists literally all the time.

You don't have to worry that you have OCD unless you start doing things like that.

  3. how dirty is the mirror/sink and how full is the trash can? If you can't see any dirt, but still insist on scrubbing it, then you may have OCD. I get told a lot I have OCD about things being clean, but I think in most cases it's a matter of personal preference.

  4. I think it's more of a "slippery slope."  If you start sliding down it and doing too much cleaning, it's borderline obsessive.
