  1. Your question has some incorrect information that I would be happy to clarify...

    The shuttle train between the two is operated by New Jersey Transit (the right-of-way may be owned by the university, but not the actual train).  It's about a mile and the trip only takes about five minutes.  It's in the NJT schedule and it runs once or twice each hour, including on weekends.

    The nickname is "the dinky" or PJ&B (Princeton Junction and Back).  It's only one or two train cars and all they do all day is to shuttle back and forth between Princeton Junction, which is where through trains to the north and south stop, and Princeton, which is actually right at the university.
