  2. No, there used to be but it sank.

  3. Portsmouth Harbour Station

       The Hard Interchange

       Portsmouth

       Hampshire

       PO13EB

  4. Portsmouth Harbour station is closest to the historic dockyard area but Southsea station is nearest if you need the Naval dockyard.

  5. of the two train stations in Portsmouth go for Portsmouth Harbour, from there its not that far at all. easy to walk, take a taxi or bus

  6. Portsmouth harbour is about 200 yards from Victory gate, entrance to HMS Victory, HMS Warrior  and the Dockyard museum.

You have to walk about a quarter mile to get to the Naval Base gate now as Flagship have fenced off access from the old gates.

  7. yes there is a station at the harbour, called localy the Hard

  8. Yes ( The Hard )

  9. Portsmouth Harbour and Protsmouth & Southsea station are both not far from the main shore base and barracks in Portsmouth. However if you are going to the Dockyards which is different from the Naval Base, then you want Porstmouth Harbour Station.

Trains run into Portsmouth by SWT, Southern, Wessex and Virgin Train companies, however due to the ongoing Signal problems (which has been going on for the past 14 months) most trains still terminate at Portsmouth & Southsea or Fratton Station, so you may well have to change trains to get into the Harbour.

  10. Portsmouth and Southsea Central is close to the active bases and Whale Island. A bit less than a mile to walk.

Portsmouth harbour is more obvious but is not actually much closer to the active bases. It is musch closer to the closed areas that form the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Have a look at Google Maps or an A-Z and you'll see what I mean.
