  1. There's SAD (I know, so cliche), or Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's basically when you're depressed in a certain season (for example, you're always sad in the winter, or the summer, and maybe your depressed in the winter AND summer) which is why it may come up only every few months, and then disappear. If you seem to always be depressed when it's cold or hot, or the weather just makes you feel depressed, ask your doctor about it.

  2. It's called cyclical depression.

  3. I'VE BEEN TREATED FOR DEPRESSION FOR MOST OF MY LIFE, AND MY DR. TELLS ME THAT EVERYONE HAS A FEW "BLUE" DAYS ONCE IN A WHILE, ESPECIALLY WOMEN WITH THE CONSTANT CHANGING HORMONES, BUT HE DID SAY THAT IF THE DEPRESSION LASTS LONGER THAN 2 WEEKS OR YOU FEEL SUICIDAL, THAT YOU NEED TREATMENT. KIND OF CURIOUS...AFTER YOUR DEPRESSION IS GONE, HOW DO YOU FEEL? ON TOP OF THE WORLD GOOD? OR POSSIBLY AGITATED AND IRRITATED? IF THATS THE CASE YOU COULD BE BI POLAR LIKE ME. IT TOOK YEARS OF TREATMENT FOR DEPRESSION BEFORE WE FINALLY GOT THE DIAGNOSIS FOR BI POLAR, BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE ONLY GO TO THE DR. WHEN THEY FEEL BAD, NOT WHEN THEY FEEL HYPER AND HAPPY AND FULL OF LIFE. MUCH LUCK.

  4. could be bipolar disorder, but only if you have manic phases as well. also seasonal mood disorder. check out the DSM
