Is there a type of leash that would enable me to walk my blind dog?

He really loves to go for walks (we have enough land for them to get exercise with), but I cannot control the direction he goes. He'll be walking along forward, and then within seconds- he'll be walking backwards. I'd love to give him this again- he always looked forward to sniffing other peoples yards. : )

  1. When I walked with my blind dogs, I let them bump into my legs to get around.  I am not sure how to describe that.  It seems like every step or two we just kept bumping into the legs to kind of guide them.  Now when we got Andy, he would l**k the dogs on the nose and guide them around to the food and water and potty and where ever they wanted to go.  I am not sure how that puppy was so smart, but he was.

  2. i walk a blind dog everyday. he wears a harness and when i walk him i attatch the leash to the harness and we go for our walk. i even walk another dog w/ him. just make sure u don't give him free run. make sure u can be right there w/ him so he doesn't run into anything, and if he does u got time to pull him away form it, so he doesn't get hurt. good luck

  3. yes a harness

  4. Yes! Try a Halti. You can buy them at your local Pet-smart or Petco.
