  1. Musical tastes are varied based on your own past exposure as a child and experiences.  Generally, whatever type of music that it is considered predictable and calming aids concentration.  To use the term "classical" music is too general and vague as it usually encompasses several hundred years of different styles (Baroque, Classical, Romantic etc). A large segment of people respond well to music of the Baroque period because it is very predictable and regular. For a sample try J.S. Bach, Handel, Telemann, Vivaldi, or Corelli.  Instead of purchasing stuff that you may despise - try the CDs from the public library to see what you might like.  Want my guess for a possible ? Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". If you don't like that - then you probably won't like other Baroque period music.
