  1. 118 118

  2. You can ring the local police station directly just look up the number.

  3. The first point I would make is that if you see somebody driving who you genuinely believe to be drunk and a danger to other road users, then that warrants a 999 call.

That aside, a new "non emergency" contact number 101 was introduced in a few places a couple of years ago, but has not proven as useful or successful as hoped and was never rolled out beyond the initial trial areas.  You can see more information about it here:

    http://www.101.gov.uk/

Otherwise, for non urgent cases you can use the "CrimeStoppers" line already noted or just call your local police force as appropriate.

In addition to 999 the U.K. telephone networks now also support 112, a pan-European emergency number implemented by order of the EU.    Dialing 112 routes to exactly the same place as dialing 999.

Somebody else mentioned 111.  This number is not used for any purpose in the U.K., but is in fact the emergency number in New Zealand, their equivalent of our 999.

123, also mentioned previously, is the current U.K. number for  the speaking clock.

  4. 123

  5. Crimestoppers 0800 555 111

  6. 112 or text No 18000 or crimestoppers through the operator. or ask to be connected to your local nick.

  7. i heard somewhere that calling 111 is the same as 999. Or it gives you some sort of emergency service.

  8. As already answered, crime stoppers or your local Police number which you should be able to find on their website via a search engine.
