Is there a usb cable compatible with a sharp vl-me10e digital camcorder that will transfer movies to a dvd rec

No - the vl-me10e is a Hi8 camcorder, i.e. it's an analog camcorder, so you can't use USB.  If you want to connect it to a DVD recorder you should be able to use an AV cable - yellow phono socket for the video, white and red for the audio.
