  1. yes. you have to undergo a treatment which is a series of shots that you get every week or so for a period of time, it desensibilizes (decreases your sensibility)you to cat's allergens (in the saliva).

  2. Unless natural, then no...but have you heard of the cats that are less likely to cause allergies?

They range from about 3,000- 5,000 dollars so if you willing to pay that much for a cat then here's a link on these weird cats:

The cats do have fur! Not to mention they're are cute! Good luck!

  3. It actually depends on why you are allergic to cats. My mom suffered for years with allergies to cats, and would start to sneeze, have watery eyes etc with my aunts cats. But, when I inherited my aunts last cat, my mom comes over and has no problems. She can also tolerate my new cat also. My oldest is a Persian, and the youngest a Bombay mix. SO since its neither long nor short fur, and both wash themselves, we can't figure that one out. I found that I was allergic to the cats LITTER, and that the dust in their fur was what would upset me.

For the runny nose, sneezing and itchy eyes, you can use Claritin.  Talk to your doctor, but my grandmother was prescribed it for her allergies, and was able to take it daily without harm. Otherwise, try meeting a cat and see if that one sets you off. Like I said, it depends on whether you are allergic to the dander, saliva (thats the number one allergy) or their fur has something in it, like litter dust, or outside pollens. Somethings you can control, others no.

  4. Go ask your vet!

  5. NOPE. IF THERE WAS MY WIFE WOULD HAVE SOME.

  6. Yes -- talk to your doc.
