I know there is no such thing as perfection but is there one that has a reputation for being the best?

  1. no, they all fail in time , i have not heard of one that does not and have not heard of one that's the best yet

  2. what you don't like 4 40

usually around 150 k you can expect to replace the compressior this is usually due to the bearings/clutch going bad

A system that has lines where they won't get hit or moved will also last longer

    goodluck

  3. My thought is, you never know. I have put over 150k on Ford, Chevy and Japanese cars. Some worked beyond that without repairs and some did not. Brand does not seem to matter. I do believe that an AC that is used regularly and where road salt is not used (road salt gets inside the rubber insulation of the freon lines causing premature rust and corrosion) will last the longest.
