  1. Try using cornstarch instead.  Many people are allergic to talcum powder and/or the perfume in baby powder.  Cornstarch is also absorbent and 'dries' things out, it's more comfortable than talcum powder (which is basically ground talc, a rock) and it's also cooler than talcum powder.

  2. I think flour...

  3. Corn starch works the same way.

  4. I used corn starch, it worked much better at preventing diaper rash.

  5. yes! corn starch! my mom whos a hippie swore by it! less chemicals.

  6. actually, it depends on how you use it. cornstarch just doesn't absorb well. i would use flour, (particularily bread flour.)

  7. Cornstarch.  Baby powder has talc in it a ground up soft rock,it can causes problems in the lungs.

  8. whats wrong with baby powder

  9. for what? i use it for several things. i use it in my hair for a quick fix if it's greasy, alternative for deodrant, i put it on my nephew's butt, and on his sweaty feet, i had water coming through my carpet which i didn't want to get moldy....so i powdered it.

alternatives.....cornstarch, baking soda.....ummm that's about all i can think of.

  10. my guess is cornstarch. i used that in my kids diapers. i really good at absorbing moisture. if thats what your looking for.

  11. it depends. what are you using it for .. ?

  12. For babies or people with sensitive skin, not many but there is plain old cornstarch. This is an ingredient in many body powders. It shouldn't give you any problem, it's scent free and a single ingredient. It is in the food section, probably with the flour and sugar because it is actually a food product.

Other good body powders include gold bond and shower to shower...but they are pretty intense. Gold bond for it's minty feeling on the skin (can burn if you overdo it or with sensitive skin) but is excellent for feet. Shower to shower has a strong fragrance.

  13. Yuppers, corn starch.

  14. of course.  We could also use nugget salt.

  15. Corn starch is always better because it is all natural and contains no talc or artificial scent.

  16. Corn Starch

  17. Corn starch. It's better than talcum powder
