Not really now.  Your best alternative currently is electricity.  However, I'm not sure if many are using it.  I think gasoline is still 'popular' in that its still used a lot (not that people like it).  Electricity using cars are not used as much as cars with gasoline.  In the future there may be alternative kinds, just not soon..

Not at this time. Oil (gas) is still the cheapest, effective form of energy for cars.
