Two more horses were "put to sleep" today after racing at Churchill Downs. Is there video of what really happened? And when will they put a stop to the 'inbreeding' and the cosmetic surgery to "make" a horse look good, when it truly has genetic defects? Money rules, animals suffer. Sad place, this US of A is turning out to be.....

  1. Racing is not about "looking good" and cosmetic surgery!  It's about speed, and being the fastest.

I've had horses with no inbreeding at all suffer terrible injuries just playing in their fields, which are as safe as I can make them.

It's sad when a horse breaks down on the track (or anywhere else!), but it's a part of life.  We ALL have genetic defects - personally, I wear glasses, as do most in my family - but I'm glad I'm alive!  Same for the horses.

Sad thing, when in this US of A people think they can take away freedoms others enjoy, particularly without true knowledge.

  2. Check the Churchill Downs web site.  I know the first horse took a bad step in the First race,  I read later that the jockey was taken to the hospital and the horse (vinstarr) was euthanized.  I do not know about the second horse.

It is tragic that Vinstar took a bad step. He was in 3rd and

would mostly have taken the win.

It is sad and my heart goes out to the jockey, trainer and owners.
