well it really depends on what kind of gamer you are...

FPS: call of duty 4

MMO: world of warcraft

strategy: civilization 4

if you're looking for a good all around console and can't afford a high end gaming pc go for xbox 360, plenty of variety

ps3. wait for this fall bc all the best games are coming out but there is drakes unforten,resistents, ratchet and clank tools. but 2009 isthe year of the ps3 so i highly suggest you buy it. type in www.yahoo.com ps3 game release dates its the ign one.
