Question:

Is there a virus for Macintosh's Leopard OS?

I just purchased an iMac and wanted to know whether there are any known viruses that affect the Mac. I've heard that it is mainly virus free, but what about the few viruses that do exist?

Also, is there any protection available (preferably free as this is a home computer) for the same. And the same question about key loggers?

  1. Hi

Virus is a program and you can make it with x86 or 32 bit software but the Mac OS is 64 bit and it is very hard to make a virus. in Mac Os X86 it is possible to do it but you maybe know there is no anti virus software for this Os (only you can find two or three) you can check it on www.soft32.com

  2. Salar seems to be of the MAC family of believers that a Mac is imune to a virus.

"Following shortly after installation issues, more problems are arising about Apple’s newly released OS X upgrade. Leopard, which came hailing hundreds of new features apparently has some features Apple failed to disclose. Heise Security, a private UK security firm, has found multiple leaks in the Leopard firewall that may give viruses and other malware direct access to your system."

"A piece of Mac OS X malware, OSX/Leap-A, claimed to be screenshots of Leopard. Some say it was the first Mac OS X virus, although its classification as a virus is debated. "
