I want to go to Florence for one year possibly longer.

I am a self employed [freelance] designer and work online so I can live anywhere and don't need to find employment.

I am Australian - 26 years old.

What Visa would I need if any?

  1. Hi,,,, hmm,, you can stay up to 6 months with out a visa,, i believe,,, i was just there in Florence myself.. I have a friend in school there,, and i do not believe he has a extension visa....

You can look up Ask.com and they may can give you a better idea...  I know, that in order to live there and obtain status as a citizen it takes almost 20 yrs....

But, this is a different deal ...

Good luck,,,, Watch the pick pockets everywhere,,,, they are good !!

  2. maximum time is 3 months.

After that you have to submit for a visa ("permesso di soggiorno").

It's better you ask this question to an italian ambassy or "consolato" (a diplomatic representation bureau) in Australia.

    It is the official source.
