Is there a visitor information centre in/near Victoria Station, London?

I'll be arriving by bus at the Victoria Station in London. My friend is working that day so I can only meet up with him in the evening. I want to walk around a bit in between those hours.

I'm wondering if there's any visitor/tourist information centre nearby which I can get some information about the city and a map. This will be the first time I go to London.
