I'll start off by saying that I live in the middle on nowhere...there isn't a gun shop anywhere near my home. There is a Bassproshop about an hour and a half away from where I live. I want to purchase a handgun but I was just wondering if you have to wait a certain amount of days before you can actually get the gun or if you can find what you want, pay for it, and take it home in the same day....because with gas prices being the way they are I really don't want to have to make the trip twice....thanks

  1. I'd love to help but I'm not a Georgia dealer. I don't know the laws there. Is there a Police Officer or FFL dealer around you could ask?

Normally the NCIS check gives the FBI "Proceed" or "Delay" and the transaction is done right then, out the door you go with the firearm (Handgun or Long Arm)

  2. I bought two guns in GA recently and took them both home the same day.  They just say that it "could" take up to two weeks but if you buy it "out of season," you shouldn't have to wait.  Just make sure you don't buy it like during Christmas or something like that.

  3. If you have a GA firearms license, you can purchase one immedietly. If you do not have one, the dealer will do an "instant" background check, whch can sometimes take days.

  4. Don't see why you would have to wait. You should be able to by a gun and do what you like with it right away. It's not like it's something dangerous like Benny Hinn tickets.
