Aside from calling up these local businesses and asking them, how will I be able to find out how much electricity companies uses in KWH? (Kilowatt Hours)

  1. spy on the meter

  2. It is probably not public record like property tax is. It is a private financial transaction between the power company and customer.

  3. This information is not available to you if the business is a private one.

If it's a certain type of charity or a publically-funded governmental office, you can find the info.

In the case of a charity, they're required to make this information available. In the case of a governmental office, you can file a Freedom of Information Act seeking the utility bills.

As for private businesses, they are indeed private. Would you want a stranger digging through your finances?  Neither do they.

  4. Go round back and read their meter once a month.
