  1. Pay a monthly fee for it to be unlisted.

  2. You not only need to ask and pay more for the privilege.

But You should also register with the National Do Not call List https://www.donotcall.gov/ to keep telemarketers from bothering you.

    But wait, there's more. 8^)

Never use that number when you buy stuff on-line or sign up for any website.  That info often gets passed around.

Use a work number for most of that stuff when they insist on getting a number.

And I only give out my home number to friends and family.

It's still not 100% secure but helps a lot.

  3. Contact the phone company and request that it be unlisted, there is usually an annual fee for this, and depending on when your phone line was purchased, and when the phone book comes out you may already be in the current issue, and need to wait to have it removed for the next book.

There is also a fee to change your number.

  4. Yes,You need to ask for it to be unlisted, and there is a charge for that.

  5. no, not from the paper-phone-book, but you can unlisted yourself.com from the on line phone book...!

if you get an unlisted, non-published number it will cost you money!
