I'm 21 years old, and have been driving for about 3 years now, and I am wondering if there's a way for Progressive to lower my insurance rate. How do I about doing this with them? What do I say?

Thank you!

  1. You can try this company - http://autoinsurance.maclenet.com - I personally have their car insurance. As I know it provides cheapest rates in my area, much cheaper then Progressive.

  2. Don't mess with your liability limits, but consider increasing your deductibles if you can absorb the loss if you are involved in an accident or have a comp loss.  Do you qualify for any discounts such as, anti-theft devices, short mileage etc.

  3. I've called Progressive for a rate quote after receiving their fliers about saving hundreds off my insurance.

They couldn't save me a penny.

  4. Based upon others judgement will not get the wise decision. However, other's suggestion might be helpful. Here is a good resource for the question.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  5. heres an idea...call a local independent agent and have them quote it for you.  they write for a lot of companies (progressive included) and can find you the best company and the best rate for you.  quotes are free and i would bet they can find you better and cheaper!

  6. For auto insurance the quick way to get a fantastic rate is do a policy comparison on car policies. Make certain that you pick similar policies with the same deductibles, car model, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I usually recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have big name insurers and can give multiple quotes on car insurance polices.

  7. Well I am not sure what company you are currently insured with but there is no guarantee that Progressive is going to be the cheapest company for you.  Are you a student? If you have a B average or better, most insurance companies will give you a good student discount.  Are you still on your parent's policy? That's a great way to save each month.

The best thing you can do is to do some research and shop around.  Don't limit yourself to one insurance company.  There are lots of them out there and you might find that one gives you a much cheaper rate than others.  The site below is a great resource because it allows you to compare quotes for all of the insurance companies in your area for free.

    Good Luck!
