Question:

Is there a way I can type in a PDF form that wasn't created as a typable form?

I am applying for a job that has a downloadable PDF application posted online. However, I'm supposed to print the form then fill it out by hand, which will take forever! Is there a program I can use or a way that I can print it out, then scan it back into my computer and fill it out on the computer or can I make it into a typable form somehow?

Thanks!

  1. Try this free online PDF form filler:

    http://www.pdfescape.com

It should let you type on the PDF wherever you want.

  2. You can do it using the forms menu in Acrobat (full version). But I think it would be quicker to do it by hand.

Perhaps your prospective  employer actually wants to see your handwriting?

  3. you'd have to buy adobe acrobat professional version. Then you could add your own typeable fields  But acrobat pro is not cheap either and it would take longer for you to create all the fields than it would be to fill out by hand to start with.

another thing to consider....the company may want you to fill out it by hand to see if you have legible handwriting or not.  Depending on the job, or the company's attitude, they may want someone with neat handwriting and this is one way to "test" an applicant.   If the instructions say to hand print it, you probably should follow their instructions.
