  1. Neat idea but anything you would do would drop the heat and the decay would slow and the heat would drop off. However by volume like say maybe you used the whole yard as a

    compost pile you would have enough mass to heat something with out the temp in the pile to drop.

  2. make a hot bed;

  3. Actually what you can do, is find an enclosed metal box that can go in your home and use it as a bench.  Then in the inside you put a bale of "whatever" and dump some water on it and seal it up.  You will have a toasty place to sit.

  4. There certainly is!  All you have to do is start composting under your bed, and all that heat will serve to keep you warm on those cold winter nights when you are conserving energy by shutting down your furnace and letting your pipes freeze and your pets die and ............

  5. I'm glad you asked. What I do is tie duct tape around the bottoms of my underwear and seal closed my fly . Then I stuff as much grass in as possible . The result, my wife leaves me alone and thinks I'm crazy . That creates simaliar reactions from the neighbors . I must be doing something right . Go Green .

  6. if you recuperate the heat from composting, then the compost will stop "working "  the compost need his heat and if you take it away , the composting will stop.

    You can get the methane from the compost and burn it  though

  7. It's pretty low level heat, probably not recoverable in any useful fashion.

  8. yeah just stand in it when your working in the garden to warm your tootsies up, we do that at the stables with the muck heap, yours should smell better than ours though

  9. It's not wasting, that's what's actually helping it process and decompose.

    Didn't think it was magic, did you?

  10. Not sure but if your composting you are already saving energy.

    I think on a mass scale garbage dumps they are already doing that.

  11. i think you are contributing to global warming
