Is there a way I can use the satellite dish as a regular antenna?

I recently moved to the country and the house has a satellite dish on the roof. At this time, I only want to watch local channels and was wondering if I would be able to get better reception with my rabbit ears by connecting them somehow to that dish?

  1. The satellite dish will pick up all radio signals. Unfortunately the LNB will only distinguish the UHF for satellite channels. Dish users need to get a separate TV antenna to receive vhf- uhf tv signals. If the dish would work, there would be no need of the secondary antenna for local channels. You can buy TV antennas that mount to the dish for convienience.
