I have 849 viruses on my computer and I need to get rid of them! Is there a way I could do that free? And if there is-what way is it? Thanks so much!

  1. Try AVG Anti-Virus Free: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.html?t...

  2. that would be very difficult, because some of those virus will be in your system registry.the best thing to do is save all of your music, pics, video, important stuff on dvd.then re-install windows.which will make your computer brand new with 0 virus.then install  AVG virus which is free to help you protect from viruses again..  http://free.avg.com/

  3. generally, free is not carefree.

  4. For free, not really. free software may detect the virus but it will not remove it. Buy an antivirus try AVG or DEFENDER PRO that will wipe off everything and keep you secure.

  5. trend micro housecall

    google it.

if the viruses are real bad they may crash it a few times.

if this happens try running it from "safe mode with networking"

  6. Avira AntiVir : highly recommended

  7. Why don't you just use what detected them? Or was it an online scan?

    www.avast.com

    www.threatfire.com

    www.superantispyware.com

Get all 3 and run full scans,it will take a long time, depending on how much you have on your computer.Use avast first and check yes when it asks if you want to run a boot-time scan.

By the way,all 3 are totally free and will get rid of it,no matter what some non-informed people think they know.

  8. Format your hard disk..believe me..that is the most effective means...using anti-virus need not fully remove virus.they might remain on other partitions or areas...

reinstall windows after formatting hard disk...that is the way..or use Linux!!

  9. It's pretty unlikely that you really have 849 virii...

which "free scan" did you run that said that?

In any case, I would suggest to download, update, and run a full system scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Superantispyware; and then to download, update, install and scan with a *legitimate* antivirus.  I use and recommend Avast.
