So, here's a refresher from logistics class: Business class is the best type of tickets. Then there's coach, and finally the worst type are "hippie" tickets. These are the ones that you see on ticket "bidding" sites such as travelocity etc on the last day/moments before the flights take off. The cost of each empty seat at that point is pennies, so whatever the airline can get to fill that spot they'll take. So... is there a way for me to just show up at the airport and wait for such tickets? Is it possible? Can it be done? does it work? Is it really cheap?
Story is I want to go to Mexico for the weekend of Aug 16th to celebrate mine and my best friends birthday (yes, we're exactly a year apart-- I swear it has something to do with why we're so awesome together), but I don't want to shell out $700 which is what I paid for a 2 week getaway during peak season in December. HELP!?!
