well, my dad died when i was 11 & im gonna be 17 in a couple days.

my mom, im not sure really.

at first i thought she was having a mental break down & she went to this place called Taliaferro.

they released her yesterday.

and the thing is she only acts like the way she does when it's just me & my brother around.

i know if i leave she'll call the police and tell them i ran away but she's the one that keeps telling us to leave.

she keeps accusing me of prostitution.

and she keeps like repeating herself.

she's suppose to be taking medicine for dementia but i know for a fact it's not dementia.

she's just pretending to be crazy.

is there something i can do?

like to legally declare her not my mom?

i know it's wrong to leave her.

but im tired of it.

  1. You could try to emancipate yourself to be considered a legal adult. Every state is different though so you will have to check on the requirements for where you live.

  2. depending where you live you may be old enough now but you need to think about housing food  utilities and all of the things you need to live in this world

  3. No, I don't think you can do that...but at the same time I could be wrong.  I would go ask a lawyer and see what they can do.  GOOD LUCK!
