  1. Amazon sells some food but the selection is poor.

If you're like many expats, you'll just start transporting large quantities of US foodstuffs in your check-in baggage everytime you come back from the USA.  When I go home to the USA to see my family, I always take two big collapsible suitcases with me, both virtually empty (one packed inside the other).  Then, when I'm packing to come back to the UK, I load them up with all my favorite US foods.  Immigration doesn't mind as long as you don't transport meat, fruits, vegetables, dairy or honey.  You can still take 32 kg per bag on most carriers, and that is a LOT of food, let me tell you.

A good idea is to pack the food inside cardboard boxes first, then put the boxes inside your bags; it's very secure that way.  Be sure to seal bottles in ziploc bags in case the lid comes off or they break.

  2. You can set yourself up with a US address at a parcel forwarding company like Bongo International.  This will allow you to buy anything online in the states and ship them to your new US address.  Bongo will ship them to you in Ireland at 50% off DHL rates.
