I have a woodworm hard drive, but i am not sure how much to knock it in. I know the packet says between 45 mins and an hour, but i had another bat exactly the same before this and it broke almost immediately. How can i tell if it is fully knocked in?

  1. It doesn't matter what the manufacturer says, you'll a good few hours of knocking in before its ready.

  2. Well, this is what you gotta do. I do not know what condition your bat came in(Pre Knocked or not) but you need to oil your bat and leave it out in a dry place for a day. Keep knocking your bat regularly with slow and hard strokes using a mallet for atleast 10 mins everyday for two weeks.

Then go and start practicing with an old cricket ball and if you do not feel any shock in your fore arms when defending the ball then the bat is pretty much knocked in but then one thing. Bat will get better and better as you play with it. The entire knock-in process is to get the bat in a shape where you can start playing with it without breaking it. The bat itself takes care of the rest.

    Best of luck!!!
