Is there a way of turning my tamagotchi off?

I want to just put it to sleep or something so that i can go to school and it wont die on me

You can't turn it off but you can pause it by pressing A and B together.

If it's for a long time you can take out the battery, but FIRST connect with some one so you won't lose information (it saves info every time you connect.). I turned the battery upside down so I wont lose the battery.
