Is there a way that I may become taller?

Get over it, your height and rate of growth are all controlled by your genetics.  Wear high heels.

I once watched a show about a girl who had an operation to make herself taller. It took 2 years of breaking her legs repeatedly and inserting metal rods in them and in the end she was only 5cm taller and had gross looking knees.

No not really, just eat healthy, lots of calcium, and your body will grow as much as it wants. But I don't see why you want to get taller, I'm 5 ft, and I love it cuz the tall guys like short girls!
