Is there a way that i can get a movie from a dvd to my ipod using itunes??????? please help!

hi there,

is there a way that i can get a movie for a dvd and upload it to my itunes so i can put it on my ipod?

i have the movie uploaded to the computer but i dont no how to get it on to my itunes i right click and i hit OPEN WITH and i click on itunes and nothing happends so how do i get movies on my itunes from uploading to my computer???? thank you for you answers!
