  1. Use a sandbox it copies the files needed to run to a safe area basically you can run and install programs in the sandbox with actually installing them on your PC, you can also run programs in the sandbox such as limewire without any viruses/trojans being able to get onto your main PC

Just make sure to scan them before you move them onto your main PC

  2. Use frostwire or a torrent downloader e.g. bittorrent or Utorrent.

You can use mozilla firefox 3.0 to download manually, it has a plugin that scans for virus.

One thing you should always remember is that, keep your antivirus updates and after downloading anything from the Net, Scan them.

    This can protect you.

  3. I have no clue. Im going to see what the answers above say because im downloading it now too.

  4. Limewire is a p2p application sharing files with thousands of people you don't know.  It's theoretically impossible to be safe from downloading a virus when using a program like this.  Sorry.

  5. Only download mp3 files (assuming you want music), it should say what kind it is in the information bar (with song name, length, artist, etc).  That should help, but not make it completely safe.

  6. I would suggest using frostwire. it is made by the same company but is safer garenteed
