i want to turn my 300 watt stereo into an 800 watt one (adding 2 small speakers two large). currently it has 2 100watt speakers (each with a tweeter and a sub ) and a 10" 100w woofer. is there something i can hook up to a cord splitter to add wattage that will compensate for the split?

  1. in a word NO you cant increase the power of your amp

BUT you can change the way you wire your speakers

Read your manual if your amp is 300watts @ 8ohms

your amp may put out about 600watts @ 4ohms

  2. the only way i can see you able to do this is to run a seperate amp with it,s own speaker set up and piggyback it off your main system.i run two seperate systems with the information from one running the other.i can either have one play or both.on the back of you 1st amp you should have an output jack connect that to the system input jack of the second amp,any information playing thru the 1st amp will carry on to the 2nd one.aother way would be to buy powered speakers and hook them up to your existing amp.
