Is there a way to avoid tolls to get from Allentown to Long Island?

I travel from Allentown to Long Island, NY a lot (round trip) and I'm getting so sick of the tolls. I know I can avoid the Throgs Neck bridge by going through Manhattan but then you still pay through the Hudson Tunnel. is there a way to avoid all tolls? I've tried using mapquest and google but none of them find a way to avoid all of them.

Any suggestions?

  1. Unfortunately, no.  All of the Hudson River crossings south of Albany requires a toll, though it does get cheaper the further north the bridge is.

  2. No there isn't

You will still have to pay on the Verrazano Br going to Allentown and Outerbridge Crossing on the return trip
