Is there a way to change a bathtub faucet without cutting a hole in the wall in the next room?

In my mind I think I should be able to. (I’m not a plumber at all) Isn’t their just a pipe sticking out the wall?? Pop the old one off pop the new one on??

  1. You should be able to if you use the proper fittings.  I would switch over to a "hand tightening" type since you won't have room for a pipe wrench.  There needs to be an access panel behind the bat drain, but I've seen many omitted up by the faucet area, because you usually install the faucet before the tub surround anyways.
