i posted before about how i got a new canon power shot, and it seems to be saving in a really bad quality. ex ( i took both these pics):

this was taken with a nikon cool pics : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v426/loverlost/pics/apr-2.png

and this was taken with my new canon A590: http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/8376/img0439mp0.png

IN THIS AREA:http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/9633/img0439ev5.png

you can really see the difference. it's looks quite pixelated. and just like it was saved in a low quality jpeg, it goes to my desktop in a JPEG, but i saved it as a PNG.

can i change the setting of my camera to save in a high quaility JPEG, or better yet a PNG?

or am i doing something wrong when i'm taking the picture?

also i looked in the manual, but i can't find anything about this.

  1. Pretty much all digital cameras save to a compressed .JPEG, on higher end models and professional cameras, you can have them save to .RAW, an uncompressed format that allows you to better edit the picture, say in photoshop or another image editing software.

About the only thing you can do is make sure everything is set to the highest qualities that it is possible to be set to in the cameras settings.

Hope I could be of help!
